Accessing Food Security Group Publications

Downloading From the MSU Site

Any publication whose title is underlined in one of the FS III publications lists may be downloaded by clicking the underlined title. Most publications are provided in one of two formats:

  • PDF format, which can be read and printed using the Adobe Acrobat Reader software available free from the Adobe site. Note that PDF files prepared from scanned documents tend to be large and slow to download via modem. For papers in the MSU International Development Paper series, the size of each PDF file appears in parentheses after the title. Most of these papers are formatted for 8.5 x 11 paper. If you must print them on A4 paper, see these instructions.
  • PPT format, which can be read using the Microsoft PowerPoint software.

Downloading From Other Web Sites

  • MSU Department of Agricultural Economics Staff Papers and M.S. Plan B Papers: May be downloaded from the Ag Econ Search site maintained by the University of Minnesota. The site may be searched by author, title, or keyword.
  • Journal articles: The full text of journal articles, especially within the last 5-10 years, can often be downloaded without charge by those with paid subscriptions or authorized access, such as:
    • MSU faculty, staff, and students connecting to MSU Libraries Electronic Resources from campus or remotely using a proxy server;
    • Students and researchers in qualifying not-for-profit institutions in eligible developing countries, for whom free access can be arranged to some 400 scientific journals through AGORA (Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture). (Requires registration through FAO.)
