African Green Revolution Forum, September 2016

The theme of this year’s AGRF was “Seize the Moment: Securing Africa’s Rise through Agricultural Transformation.” The forum built on a campaign to “Seize the Moment” that was launched at the 12th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) Partnership Platform meeting in Accra, Ghana in April 2016. The campaign is backed by the African Union, the New Partnership for Africa’s

Development (NEPAD), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), along with key civil-society groups, farmer groups, companies and development partners.  Members of MSU’s Food Security Group (Milu Muyanga, Kwame Yeboah, Thomas Jayne) contributed to the AGRF in a variety of television and news reports highlighted below, and were co-authors to the 2016 Africa Agricultural Status Report, AGRA’s Flagship report that was launched at the AGRF meeting in Nairobi, September 5-9, 2016.
